Model 3375 Double Beam UV-VIS Spectrophotometer (EI-DVI Brand):

Product Overview:

The EI-DVI Model 3375 Double Beam Spectrophotometer is a solid state microprocessor based instrument designed for highly efficient, quick, and accurate spectrophotometric analysis across a broad spectral range. Utilising advanced engineering techniques, this spectrophotometer delivers enhanced accuracy and reproducibility crucial for demanding laboratory applications such as research and quality control. The instrument excels in analysing samples across the entire ultraviolet (UV) region (190–400 nm) and the visible (VIS) region (400–800 nm), spanning a total wavelength range of 190 nm to 1100 nm.

Core Technology and Performance:

The Model 3375 features a newly designed excellent optical system and utilizes a double-beam configuration for enhanced stability and accuracy.

High-Resolution Monochromator:
The instrument employs a diffraction grating within the monochromator. This grating boasts a high resolution of 1200 lines/mm, ensuring the production of a precise linear spectrum and a narrow spectral bandwidth of 1 nm.
Light Source and Detector:
To cover the full spectrum from UV to NIR, the system uses imported long-life tungsten and Deuterium lamps. Detection is handled by a sensitive Silicon Photodiode.

Data Readout and Connectivity:

The instrument is equipped with Automatic Control Systems and automatically sets the wavelength. Results are displayed on a 5-inch 320 x 240 dots graphical LCD. The system utilizes soft touch numeric keys for convenient numeric input.

The output parameters include % Transmission (%T), Absorbance (Abs.), and Concentration (Conc.). Data management is simplified through ample sample storage memory and PC connectivity via a USB Interface. A printer output port is also provided for printing data using any dot matrix printer (printer optional).

Key Applications:

The versatility of UV-Vis spectrophotometry makes the Model 3375 suitable for a diverse range of analytical needs.
Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis:

The instrument operates based on the Beer-Lambert law, allowing for the quantitative determination of compounds by relating absorbance to concentration. Qualitative identification is achieved by comparing the measured absorption spectrum with spectra of known compounds to characterize those that absorb UV radiation.
Pharmaceutical and Biochemical Research:

The Model 3375 is highly suitable for pharmaceutical quality control and research. Applications include:
Quantitative analysis of pharmaceutical substances (raw materials or formulations) by measuring absorbance at specific wavelengths.
Impurity detection, by observing additional peaks in the absorption spectrum compared to a standard, or by measuring absorbance at a specific wavelength.
Nucleic Acid and Protein Analysis for quantifying concentration and assessing purity (e.g., DNA/RNA analysis)
Chemical and Industrial Analysis:

The spectrophotometer supports extensive chemical and industrial analysis, including:
Studying Chemical Kinetics by monitoring absorbance changes over time as a reaction proceeds.
Structure Elucidation of organic molecules, helping to detect the presence or absence of functional groups, unsaturation, and hetero atoms.
Determining Molecular Weights through the measurement of suitable derivatives.
