The Model 902 is provided in a two-drum assembly configuration.

Operational Mechanism:
 
The digital friability test apparatus operates on the principle of subjecting tablets to controlled tumbling and mechanical shock. The unit is equipped with two transparent acrylic drums designed to rotate at a highly controlled speed of 25 ± 1 RPM.
The drums simulate real-world mechanical forces. Inside each drum, an arm carries the tablets up to a predetermined height, allowing them to fall from that specified height while the drums are rotating. This tumbling action subjects the tablets to abrasion and impact. For user convenience, provision is made to easily remove the lid of the acrylic drum by unscrewing just one knob.
