Detailed Product Description

Overview and Application

The Microprocessor Dissolution Test Apparatus (Model 1916) is a solid state instrument designed specifically for determining the active drug ingredient within pharmaceutical formulations, such as tablets or capsules, in strict adherence to IP and USP specifications. This apparatus is engineered and manufactured for use in quality control and R & D departments within pharmaceutical industries. By evaluating adequate bio-availability, the instrument provides essential data necessary for the development of therapeutically optimum dosage forms. The instrument is extremely useful for pharmaceutical laboratories.

Advanced Technology and User Interface:

The Model 1916 utilizes the latest microprocessor technology and advanced engineering techniques to provide enhanced accuracy and reproducibility.
The system offers a convenient interface featuring a 20 x 4 Line Alphanumeric LCD display with Backlit and 19 soft touch membrane type keys. User-friendly prompts guide the operator throughout the entire measurement process. For immediate operation control, independent stirrer and platform keys are located on the front panel, allowing the user to easily start/stop stirrer movement or platform displacement at any point.

Testing Capabilities and Control:

The Model 1916 is a 6 Station unit. The stirrer speed is accurately controlled by a microcontroller and maintained at $\pm$1 RPM, meeting IP and USP specifications. The system offers Programmable Stirrer Control with a range of 25 to 200 RPM. The instrument also features a motorized platform (stirrer unit), and its up/down movement is designed to improve accessibility for efficient sampling.

Temperature Management:

The unit includes a sturdy, acrylic water bath housing the dissolution vessel with its cover. A large, spread-out stainless steel heater ensures perfectly uniform heating across the bath.
The Model 1916 features a dual channel temperature system. This system includes sensors to monitor the test temperature of the dissolution vessel (T2) as well as the temperature of the water bath (T1). The water bath also has bottom drainage, making the unit easy to empty and clean.

Programming, Storage, and Data Features:

The instrument boasts robust data management capabilities:
Sample Storage: It has a substantial storage capacity for 200 samples. The samples analyzed are automatically stored in the memory, categorized by different batch and sample numbers.
Programming Modes: The system features three distinct programming modes: Routine, Sustain, and Control.
Test Methods: Facility is provided for setting up 20 different test methods using the Routine and Sustain modes. These setups are retained in the memory even if the power is switched OFF.
Power Failure Contingency: In the event of a power failure, the instrument retains the elapsed time for the currently running test, allowing for the continuation of the last sample run.
Indicators: The system uses Audio Visual Indicators for system status. Specifically, 4 LEDs are available for status indications, including 3 LEDs for Test status (Run, Alarm, End) and one LED indicating the heater on/off status.
Printing: Provision is made for the attachment of any dot matrix printer utilizing a centronics parallel port interface, allowing the user to print any of the stored setups or results.
