The Garmin eTrex 30x is a highly versatile handheld GPS unit, introduced as an upgraded version of the popular eTrex 30. Enhanced Navigation and Sensors:
The eTrex 30x is equipped with sophisticated tools for navigating the backcountry. It features a high-sensitivity, WAAS-enabled GPS receiver combined with HotFix satellite prediction, ensuring it quickly and precisely locates your position and maintains the GPS fix even in heavy cover or deep canyons.
For precise direction and altitude monitoring, the 30x model includes:
• 3-Axis Electronic Compass: This tilt-compensated compass shows your heading even when you are standing still and without holding the device level.

Global Satellite Tracking:

Using the GLONASS system, developed by the Russian Federation, the device can lock onto a position approximately 20 percent faster on average compared to using GPS alone. The device comes pre-loaded with a worldwide basemap featuring shaded relief. The internal memory has been expanded to hold more maps, and you can easily expand storage further using the built-in microSD card slot (supporting a maximum of 32 GB). Users can plan their routes and manage data using the free BaseCamp software, which allows you to view and organize maps, routes, tracks, and waypoints on a computer.
Versatility and Connectivity:
The eTrex 30x is designed for multi-purpose use. With compatible mounts available, it can be used handheld or installed on various vehicles, including ATVs, bicycles, boats, cars, or hot air balloons. For road use, the device supports City Navigator NT maps for turn-by-turn driving directions when paired with auto mount capabilities.
The unit supports wireless connectivity, allowing it to wirelessly connect to a variety of compatible Garmin devices, such as VIRB action cameras and ANT+ sensors like heart rate monitors. It can also read from and write to the chirp wireless beacon or link directly with other ANT+-enabled outdoor navigation devices for sharing data such as tracks and waypoints.
