Measurement Principle:
The PMS-714 measures moisture content using a 2 pins moisture electrode probe. The principal method of measurement involves determining the conductive ability of the sample (soil or similar material) via the two pins electrode, and then converting this measurement into a reading displayed as the percentage of moisture content.

The meter and probe assembly has a total length of 392 mm (15.4"). The display is a clear LCD screen measuring 28 mm x 19 mm. The complete unit, including the battery, weighs approximately 267 g (0.58 LB). The device is powered by DC 1.5 V (UM4/AAA) x 4 PCs batteries.
