Auto Melting Point Apparatus 1935 | 4-Digit LED Display | EI-DVI Precision
The Auto Melting Point Apparatus Model 1935 (EI-DVI Series) is a sophisticated laboratory instrument specifically designed for the precise determination of the melting point temperature of crystalline samples held within capillary tubes. Utilizing the latest microcontroller technology and advanced engineering techniques, this system delivers enhanced accuracy and reproducibility for critical analytical processes. It is an essential tool for quality control, research, and identification of substances in various fields, particularly the pharmaceutical industry.
Core Features and Instrumentation
This apparatus is engineered for efficiency, precision, and ease of use, featuring a microcontroller based digital display system and soft touch membrane type keys for straightforward operation.
Programmable Control and Accuracy
The instrument features fully programmable plateau temperatures and heating ramp rates, selectable using ‘Plateau’/ ‘Ramp’ keys along with 'Up' and 'Down' keys. The programmable plateau temperature allows the user to rapidly heat the instrument to a few degrees below the expected melting point. Once the plateau temperature is reached, the apparatus automatically switches to a slow, controlled heating mode at the programmed ramp rate until the melt occurs, ensuring highly accurate measurements.
Advanced Monitoring and Data Management
Temperature results are displayed on a 4 Digit Seven Segment LED Display. The end point of the measurement cycle (the final melting point temperature) is clearly indicated by an 'END' LED accompanied by an intermittent audible beep. A 'Run' LED confirms that the instrument is actively engaged in the measurement cycle. The apparatus allows users to store up to 100 results (melting point temperatures) using the ‘Store/Recall’ key. These results are retained in the instrument’s memory even after the power is switched off.
Safety and Maintenance
For increased user convenience and rapid turnaround time between samples, the apparatus includes Quick Cooling with an Integrated Fan. Additionally, if a sample capillary is accidentally broken inside the heating chamber, a ‘Normal’/’Clean’ rotary switch is provided at the right side of the instrument, allowing the user to flush out the broken capillary.
Key Applications
Melting point analysis is a crucial technique used in the laboratory for the identification of pure substances and the determination of sample purity.
• Pharmaceutical Quality Control: Used to assess the purity of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and final drug products, ensuring they meet required specifications.
• Chemical Synthesis: Helps characterize new compounds and verify successful synthesis.
• Research and Education: Widely used in academic and research settings to study the thermal stability and physical properties of organic crystalline substances.
