Product Description: HANNA HI98301 DiST 1 Waterproof TDS Tester:
The Hanna Instruments HI98301 DiST 1 is a rugged, reliable, and ergonomic pocket-sized tester designed to provide quick and accurate measurement of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). Ideal for use in the lab or field, this low-range TDS meter measures up to 2000 ppm (mg/L). Its slim profile makes it easy to handle and carry, ensuring accuracy and simplicity are always within reach.
Advanced Measurement Technology:
The DiST 1 employs an amperometric graphite electrode for TDS readings. The use of graphite prevents oxidation and significantly reduces the polarization effect often found with traditional two-stainless steel pin testers, resulting in better repeatability, reliability, and accuracy.
To ensure measurements remain accurate despite temperature variations—a crucial factor in TDS measurement—the meter features an exposed temperature sensor. This sensor allows for rapid temperature compensation and displays the temperature reading simultaneously with the TDS value. Temperature measurements can be displayed in either Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F). The meter utilizes a 0.5 conversion factor (EC to TDS).
Simplified Operation and User Interface:
This modern tester keeps operation straightforward with a simple two-button interface: one for powering the unit ON/OFF and the other dedicated for easy calibration.
The large multi-level LCD simultaneously displays both the TDS reading and the temperature. The screen includes helpful indicators such as a calibration tag (showing the meter has been calibrated) and an instability indicator, which disappears when a stable reading has been obtained.
The HI98301 features automatic calibration at 1382 ppm (mg/L) using a single push of a button. For battery conservation, users can select an automatic shut-off time of 8 minutes, 60 minutes, or disable the function entirely. Upon startup, the LCD displays the percentage of the remaining battery life.
