The RICO RSBT 7 is a sophisticated automatic bomb calorimeter, microprocessor-based and designed for the precise determination of the gross calorific value (GCV) of liquid and solid fuel samples. Manufactured by RICO SCIENTIFIC INDUSTRIES, this system offers an accurate and relatively straightforward method for measuring heats of combustion and sulfur contents of various hydrocarbons and fuels. It features a compact, integrated modular design and is built to operate according to fundamental standards, including IP standards. The RSBT 7 is supplied complete with essential components like a puff-insulated water jacket, safety features, and a certified bomb, making it a reliable instrument for quality control, research and development, and teaching establishments.
 
Key Features and Functionality
 
High Precision Measurement: The calorimeter provides exceptional thermal resolution, achieving a readability and accuracy of  0.001°C in rising temperature measurements.
Automatic Results: It utilizes a microprocessor for automatic calculation and display of the Calorific Value (CV). The calculation accuracy for calorific value is $\pm$ 50 calories.
Data Handling and Output: The system includes an inbuilt thermal printer, which generates reports detailing the calorific value, date, and time. Furthermore, a USB interface is provided to facilitate the transfer of measurement data into a PC for comprehensive logging and analysis.
User Interface: Operation is managed via a 20 x 4 LCD display and a front panel keypad. Numeric digits (0-9) are available for feeding crucial test data, such as the weight of the tablet and water equivalent values.
Operation Control: A Menu Key allows users to select the desired test type, including calibration, water equivalent determination, or GCV sample testing. The system also features a Peak Temperature Hold function accompanied by an alarm.
Robust Construction: The outer jacket is constructed from Stainless Steel (S.S.), and the bomb itself is made of non-corrosive S.S. The inner vessel is made of Copper.
