The Shimadzu ATY224R Analytical Balance is an economic model within the AT-R Series, designed to deliver high precision and improved convenience for rigorous laboratory weighing procedures. This analytical balance offers a maximum weighing capacity of 220g with a minimum display resolution of 0.1 mg.
Core Technology and Reliability
The ATY224R incorporates Shimadzu's UniBloc technology. This durable, high-performance aluminum alloy mass sensor features a compact, uniform, one-piece structure that replaces approximately 70 parts found in a conventional electromagnetic balance sensor assembly. The UniBloc design ensures stable temperature characteristics, excellent response time, stable corner-load performance, reliability, and a long operational life.
Optimized Measurement Control
This balance includes Easy Settings that allow the desired ratio of stability and response to be freely changed with one-touch operation, even during measurement.
• Responsiveness Priority is crucial when weighing fixed amounts of liquids or powders, or when seeking quick measurements and high operation efficiency.
• Stability Priority is ideal for applications in environments subject to constant airflow, vibrations, or when the numerical value is unstable.
The balance is equipped with a 5-stage indicator to help manage these settings.
Connectivity and Data Integrity
The ATY224R comes standard with two convenient interfaces, enhancing connectivity and data handling:
• Dual Interfaces: Equipped with USB (Type B) and RS232C (D-sub 9P plug) terminals.
• WindowsDirect Communication Function: This feature allows balance data to be sent directly to applications like Excel or other Windows programs without requiring the installation of additional data communication software. This capability helps prevent human error through the direct transfer of weight values to the computer.
• GLP Output and Calibration Record: The balance supports the GLP output function and allows users to maintain a record of calibration execution, including the serial number and ID of the balance.
Application Versatility
The ATY224R is equipped with several features to streamline complex tasks:
• Expanded Piece Counting Function: Allows unit weights of up to five different samples to be easily entered, stored, and recalled.
• Comparator Function: Enables samples to be compared against target values or pass/fail criteria, clearly indicating the results.
• Multiple Weighing Units: In addition to grams (g), the balance can weigh in multiple units such as ct, mg, oz, and custom conversion units, and perform percentage (%) measurement.
• Formulation Mode: Convenient for seeking the total mass and making multiple measurements of minute samples.

• Calibration: Calibration/Adjustment requires an External weight.
