The meter features a broad measurement capacity with 3 ranges covering 30 dB to 130 dB (input signal only). The unit incorporates dual frequency weighting networks:

• A Weighting: This characteristic simulates the "Human Ear Listing" response and is typically selected when making environmental sound level measurements.

• C Weighting: This characteristic is near the "FLAT" response and is suitable for determining the sound pressure level of tested equipment or checking machinery noise.

The SL-4011 also offers two dynamic characteristics modes for time weighting:

• Fast (t= 200 ms): Simulates the human ear response time weighting.

• Slow (t= 500 ms): Designed to make it easier to obtain the average values of vibration sound level.
