The Lutron SL-4033SD Sound Level Meter is a professional-grade instrument designed for accurate and reliable sound level measurements, adhering to IEC 61672 Class 1 standards for frequency and time weighting. Its key feature is the real-time SD memory card Datalogger, offering an innovative and easy solution for recording noise data directly onto an SD card (1 GB to 16 GB capacity) for seamless transfer and analysis in Excel without requiring additional software setup. The instrument utilizes a microcomputer circuit to ensure high accuracy and long-term stability.
Advanced Data Logging and Connectivity:
The SL-4033SD excels in data management thanks to its real-time clock and calendar functionality, which embeds time information (year/month/date/hour/minute/second) directly into the recorded measurements.
Datalogger Modes:
• Auto Datalogger: Sampling time is adjustable from 1 second up to 3600 seconds.
• Manual Datalogger: Allows manual data saving by pushing a button once, setting the sampling time to 0 second. In manual mode, the user can select 1 to 99 position (location) numbers.
• Easy PC Interface: The meter includes RS232/USB PC computer interface capabilities for data output.
Precision Measurement Features:
The meter is equipped with essential acoustic features to meet professional measurement demands:
• Frequency Weighting: Includes both A and C weighting networks, complying with standards.
◦ A Weighting: Simulates the human ear listening response, typically used for environmental sound level measurements.
◦ C Weighting: Offers a "FLAT" response, suitable for checking machinery noise (Q.C. checks) and determining the sound pressure level of tested equipment.
• Time Weighting (Dynamic Characteristic):
Includes Fast and Slow modes.
◦ Fast Response (t=200 ms): Simulates the human ear response time weighting.
◦ Slow Response (t=500 ms): Easily captures the average values of vibrating sound levels.
• Microphone: Features a highly accurate electric condenser microphone with a 0.5-inch standard head size (12.7 mm DIA.).
• Measurement Control: Offers Auto range selection (30 to 130 dB) and Manual range selection across three ranges (30 to 80 dB, 50 to 100 dB, 80 to 130 dB, with 50 dB steps).
Operational Functions and Design:
The SL-4033SD is designed for user-friendly operation with practical features such as:
• Hold Functions: Includes Data Hold (to freeze the current measurement value) and Peak Hold (to keep the peak or maximum measurement value).
• Memory Recall: Function to store and recall Maximum and Minimum measured values.
• Display: Large LCD size (52 mm x 38 mm) with a green light backlight for easy reading in various lighting conditions.
• Calibration: Features a built-in external calibration VR, allowing easy calibration to the 94 dB level using a screwdriver. It is also calibrated via external sound calibrators such as the B & K Multifunction Acoustic Calibrator 4226 (or SC-941, optional).
• Housing: Comes in a heavy duty and compact housing case, ensuring durability and portability.
• Power Management: Supports both battery operation (UM3/AA 1.5 V x 6 PCs) or use with an optional DC 9V adapter. The meter can be set to default auto power off or manual power off.
