A key innovation of this meter is the real-time SD memory card Datalogger, which includes a built-in clock and calendar for precise time-stamped recordings.
The meter measures sound pressure levels ranging from 30 dB to 130 dB. It provides flexible measurement options, including both A and C frequency weighting networks, and selectable Fast and Slow time weighting modes. The large LCD display features a green light backlight, ensuring readings are clear and easy to see, even in low-light conditions.

Data Logging and Connectivity:
The instrument functions as a real-time data recorder, allowing the sampling time to be set from 1 second up to 3600 seconds. The data logging capabilities utilize an SD memory card, supporting capacities from 1 GB up to 16 GB.
A significant feature is the seamless data transfer process: users can simply remove the SD card from the meter, plug it into a computer, and download all measured values, complete with date and time information, directly to an Excel file. This eliminates the need for extra software setup on the computer. For direct connection, the meter is equipped with an RS232/USB PC computer interface.
Manual data logging is also available, allowing users to save data one time per button press, and supporting location numbering from position 1 to position 99 to identify specific measurement sites.
Measurement Flexibility:
The SL-4023SD includes user-friendly controls for manipulating measurements:
• A & C Weighting: Provides networks that comply with standards, simulating the "Human Ear Listing" response (A weighting) for environmental measurements, or a near "FLAT" response (C weighting) suitable for machinery noise checks (Q.C. check).
• Time Weighting: Selectable Fast (simulated human ear response time) or Slow (used to get the average values of vibration sound level).
• Range Selection: Features both auto range (30 to 130 dB) and manual range selection, with three distinct manual ranges (30-80 dB, 50-100 dB, and 80-130 dB).
• Data Handling: Includes Data Hold to freeze the displayed reading and Peak Hold to capture and retain the maximum peak value. There is also a memory function to store Maximum and Minimum recorded values.
Technical Components:
The device uses an Electric condenser microphone with an outer size of 12.7 mm (1/2 inch) for high accuracy and long-term stability. Calibration is simplified with a built-in external calibration VR, allowing easy adjustment to a 94 dB level using a screw driver.
