Technology and Operational Principle:
Turbidity is the measure of cloudiness or haziness in a liquid, often caused by suspended solids like clay, silt, algae, or bacteria. The Model 335 utilizes an optical measurement technique, commonly known as nephelometry (measuring scattered light at a 90-degree angle), to determine turbidity levels.
The instrument operates by focusing a beam of light from its IR LED source onto a test tube containing the sample solution. The light scattered at a right angle by the suspended particles within the solution is detected by a photodiode detector. This signal is then electronically amplified and displayed instantly on the 3½ Digit 7-Segment LED screen, providing precise results in Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTU).
