The Brookfield DV-1M Digital Viscometer (Model LVDV1M) is a high-performance, economical solution designed for rapid and accurate viscosity measurement. As an industry leader in the entry-level category, the DV-1M offers the unique advantage of continuous sensing, providing real-time data display that is often only found in more expensive models. This specific configuration includes an RTD temperature probe, protective keypad covers (PJ), and a Type D power cord, making it a comprehensive package for laboratory and industrial quality control.
Advanced User Interface & Display
The DV-1M features a large, 3-inch monochromatic graphical display designed for maximum clarity. The interface is highly customizable, allowing the operator to select which primary parameter—Viscosity, Temperature, Torque, or Time—is shown in a larger font. With integrated "Hot Keys" and a user-friendly keypad, navigating through spindle selections, speed adjustments, and test options is faster and more intuitive than ever.
Comprehensive Measurement Capabilities
Specifically calibrated for LV (Low Viscosity) applications, the LVDV1M is ideal for testing thin materials such as inks, oils, solvents, and biological fluids. It provides 18 different rotational speeds, offering a broad range of measurement capability. The instrument simultaneously measures and displays viscosity and temperature, ensuring that environmental variables are accounted for during every test.
Connectivity and Data Analysis
Equipped with a USB PC interface, the DV-1M allows for seamless communication with optional Wingather SQ Software. This enables users to collect, analyze, and record test data, as well as plot up to 20 data sets concurrently. Additionally, the unit supports direct printing to a Dymo label printer, allowing for immediate physical documentation of test results including % torque, speed, and temperature.
Integrated Timed Functions
To enhance repeatability, the DV-1M includes a built-in timed measurement function. Operators can set "Time to Stop" or "Time to Torque" conditions, ensuring that measurements are taken at precise intervals. This feature is essential for analyzing time-dependent (thixotropic) fluids and ensuring consistent methodology across different shifts or laboratory sites.
Durable Construction & Accessories
The model comes with a stylish and stable Model G Laboratory Stand and a set of four stainless steel LV spindles. The included protective jacket (PJ) ensures the keypad remains free from samples and environmental contaminants, while the Type D power cord provides compatibility for regional electrical requirements.
