Aquasol AP-CL-01 Portable Digital Chlorine Meter – Free & Total Chlorine, 0–5 ppm
The Aquasol AP-CL-01 (APCL01) is a portable, microprocessor-based meter for measuring free and total chlorine from 0 to 5 ppm with a resolution of 0.01 ppm. It gives quick, reliable residual chlorine readings for drinking water, swimming pools, process water and wastewater disinfection checks.
Measurement uses a spectrophotometric method, with free chlorine and total chlorine reagents and standards based on international methods. Accuracy is ±1% below 2 ppm and ±3% above 2 ppm, which covers the typical residual range checked after chlorination.
The meter has a large LCD, a memory and storage function, and a weatherproof hard case in a compact design that suits both lab bench and field use. It runs on four AAA batteries and weighs only 168 g, so it is easy to carry between sampling points.
Each kit is supplied with free chlorine reagent, total chlorine reagent, two sample bottles, batteries and an instruction booklet, so you can start testing straight away. Replacement reagents are low cost, which keeps routine monitoring affordable.

Core Features & User Benefits
The AP-CL-01 makes residual chlorine checks fast and portable, with digital readings that remove the guesswork of colour-matching kits.
- Free and Total Chlorine Measures both parameters with dedicated reagents, so you can see free residual and combined chlorine.
- 0.01 ppm Resolution Fine resolution across 0–5 ppm suits drinking water and pool monitoring.
- Microprocessor-Based Measurement Gives fast, consistent digital readings instead of visual colour comparison.
- Memory Function Store and recall readings for simple record-keeping.
- Weatherproof and Compact Hard case and 168 g weight make it practical for field rounds.
- Ready-to-Use Kit Supplied with both reagents, sample bottles and batteries.
- Low-Cost Reagents Affordable consumables keep the cost per test low for routine monitoring.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the difference between free and total chlorine?
Free chlorine is the chlorine available for disinfection. Total chlorine is free chlorine plus combined chlorine (chloramines). The AP-CL-01 measures both using separate reagents.
What range and accuracy does it offer?
0 to 5 ppm with 0.01 ppm resolution. Accuracy is ±1% below 2 ppm and ±3% above 2 ppm.
Is it suitable for checking drinking water to IS 10500?
IS 10500 sets a minimum residual free chlorine level for disinfected drinking water, and the 0–5 ppm range with 0.01 ppm resolution covers that level. For formal reporting, follow the test method your laboratory or regulator specifies.
What comes with the meter?
The meter, free chlorine reagent, total chlorine reagent, two sample bottles, four AAA batteries and an instruction booklet.
Where is it used?
Water treatment plants, municipal supply checks, swimming pools, hotels and hospitals, food processing wash water, and effluent disinfection monitoring.
