Hanna HI98108 pHep+ Waterproof Pocket pH Tester
Discover the ultimate tool for precise pH measurement with the Hanna HI98108 pHep+ Pocket pH Tester. Engineered by Hanna Instruments, a world leader in analytical and scientific instruments, this compact and robust pH meter provides high accuracy readings for a wide array of applications.
Product Overview
The HI98108 pHep+ revolutionises pH measurement by offering an affordable, user-friendly, and highly accurate solution in a pocket-sized design. Introduced as part of the redesigned pHep family, this tester ensures reliable results in various environments, from laboratories to field testing. Its slim, ergonomic design ensures it fits comfortably in your hand or pocket, making it ideal for on-the-go testing.
Advanced Features for Superior Performance
• Dual Display with High Resolution: The large, multi-level LCD simultaneously displays pH and temperature readings with a high 0.01 pH resolution, ensuring clarity and ease of reading. An instability indicator disappears when a steady reading is obtained, guaranteeing result reliability.
• Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC): An exposed temperature sensor provides rapid and precise temperature-compensated pH measurements. This is critical for achieving high accuracy, especially when dealing with samples at temperature extremes. Temperature can be displayed in either degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit.
• Intuitive Operation: Operation is simplified to just two primary buttons: one for turning the meter on/off and another for entering calibration mode. A third button located in the battery compartment allows users to easily select the displayed temperature unit and adjust the automatic shut-off time.
• Enhanced Electrode Longevity: The pH electrode features a unique reference cell design with an extractable cloth junction. This allows users to pull a small portion of the cloth (approximately 1/8 inch) to expose a fresh surface, effectively clearing any clogs and extending the life of the pH electrode.
• Automated Calibration: Calibration is performed automatically to one, two, or three points using pre-programmed standard buffers (pH 4.01, 7.01, and 10.01). The meter automatically recognises and stores the calibration value once stability is reached.
• Battery Management: Displays battery percent level at start-up and includes a low battery indicator to notify users of remaining power, conserving battery life through user-selectable auto-off options (8 minutes, 60 minutes, or disabled).
Versatile Applications
The HI98108 pHep+ is designed for versatility, making it suitable for a broad range of applications including:
• Environmental Monitoring: Ideal for field testing of water quality.
• Laboratory Analysis: Provides precise measurements for various lab settings.
• Aquaculture and Aquarium Management: Perfect for monitoring pH and temperature in saltwater or freshwater aquariums.
• Agricultural Use: Essential for soil pH assessment, managing nutrient availability, monitoring irrigation water quality, and optimising hydroponic, aquaponic, and foliar nutrition systems.
