Product Overview:
The Lutron DT-2234B Photo Tachometer is a high-quality, professional non-contact instrument designed to measure rotational speed (RPM) and surface speeds. This device is classified as a Photo Tachometer, also commonly referred to as a revolution counter.
The DT-2234B is a versatile tool used for measuring the rotational speed of various rotating objects such as shafts, wheels, and motors. Unlike traditional contact tachometers which necessitate physical connection, the DT-2234B measures speed remotely using a non-contact method. This makes it an ideal choice for use on delicate machinery or in situations where physical contact is challenging or undesirable. The instrument is built using an exclusive one-chip micro-computer LSI circuit and a precise quartz crystal time base, ensuring high accuracy and quick measurement time.
The DT-2234B is suitable for a wide range of applications, including use in Automobiles, Airports, Ships, Vehicles, and laboratory settings. It is designed to measure the operating speed of an engine in revolutions per minute and indicate the angular speed of a rotating shaft.
Key Features and Functionality:
The Lutron DT-2234B is a digital, auto-ranging tachometer offering user-friendly operation and robust data tracking features:
• High Accuracy and Range: It offers a wide measurement range of 5 to 99,999 RPM. The accuracy is high, rated at ± (0.05 % + 1 digit).
• Data Memory Function: The device includes a memory function that automatically stores the last value, maximum (Max.) value, and minimum (Min.) value achieved during the measurement process.
• Selectable Units: The user can select units for measuring RPM and surface speed, including meters per minute (m/min) or feet per minute (ft/min).
• Clear Display: Measurements are displayed on a large, easy-to-read 5-digit LCD screen, with display digits measuring 10 mm (0.4") in size.
• Remote Detection: The photo tachometer detecting distance typically ranges from 50 to 150 mm (2 to 6 inches), with a typical maximum distance of 300 mm (12 inches) depending on ambient light conditions.
• Power and Durability: The unit is powered by four 1.5 V AA (UM-3) batteries, offering long battery life.
Technical Specifications:
The Lutron DT-2234B is certified to ISO-9001, CE, and IEC1010 standards.
