Advanced Features Explained
Professional Sensor Technology Lutron LX-1108 4-Light Type Digital Light Meter
The LX-1108 employs an exclusive photodiode with specialized color correction filter that precisely matches the C.I.E. photopic curve—the international standard that corresponds to human eye light response. This ensures the meter measures light intensity as perceived by the human eye rather than just physical radiation, providing more relevant readings for practical applications. The sensor's cosine correction factor standardization further enhances accuracy by accounting for the angle at which light strikes the sensor surface. This means measurements remain consistent even when light comes from different directions, not just perpendicular to the sensor.Five-Range Measurement System Lutron LX-1108 4-Light Type Digital Light Meter
With its five selectable measurement ranges, the LX-1108 offers exceptional flexibility across the entire spectrum of illumination levels:- 40.00 Lux Range - Ultra-high resolution (0.01 Lux) for measuring very low light levels in emergency lighting, night environments, or dark rooms
- 400.0 Lux Range - Suitable for normal indoor lighting assessment in offices, schools, and homes
- 4,000 Lux Range - Ideal for brighter indoor environments, workplace safety verification, and commercial spaces
- 40,000 Lux Range - Perfect for measuring bright indoor lighting, covered outdoor areas, and partially shaded daylight
- 400,000 Lux Range - Capable of measuring full daylight, direct sunlight, and extremely bright artificial lighting
Advanced Data Functions Lutron LX-1108 4-Light Type Digital Light Meter
The LX-1108 offers several sophisticated data handling features that enhance its utility for professional applications:- Peak Hold - Captures and displays the maximum light intensity detected, particularly useful for measuring flash or pulsed lighting
- Data Hold - Freezes the current reading on the display for easy recording, especially helpful in hard-to-reach measurement locations
- Memory Function - Stores maximum and minimum values during a measurement session, with recall capability to review the range of illumination detected
- RS-232 Data Output - Connect to computers for real-time data logging, extended monitoring, or integration with other measurement systems
- Optional USB Connectivity - Available with the optional USB-01 cable for modern computer connections
