RS12R and RS12PLUS ORBITAL SHAKERS REMI
1. REMI RS-12R Refrigerated Orbital Shaker
The REMI RS-12R is a Refrigerated Shaking Incubator. Its primary and most important feature is its ability to cool the chamber below ambient temperature. This makes it essential for applications involving temperature-sensitive biological samples that require incubation at or below room temperature. It is ideal for growing insect cells, yeast, marine microorganisms, performing certain protein expression protocols, and any study that requires precise temperature control in a lower range. The unit combines a smooth orbital shaking motion with a CFC-free refrigeration system. Key Specifications & Features:- Primary Function: Shaking, Heating, and Cooling.
- Temperature Range: Typically 5°C to 60°C.
- Shaking Speed: Variable, usually from 50 to 250 RPM.
- Control System: Microprocessor-based PID controller with a digital display for both temperature and speed, plus a programmable timer.
- Motor: Brushless DC motor for quiet, maintenance-free, and long-lasting operation.
- Platform: Universal platform with lotus-type clamps to accommodate various sizes of flasks (e.g., 100ml, 150ml, 250ml, 500ml). Capacity is typically around 16 flasks of 250ml.
- Construction: Inner chamber made of stainless steel for easy cleaning, with a glass window in the door for observation without disturbing the internal environment. RS12R and RS12PLUS ORBITAL SHAKERS REMI
2. REMI RS-12 Plus Orbital Incubator Shaker
The REMI RS-12 Plus is an Orbital Incubator Shaker. It is designed to provide a controlled, heated environment combined with orbital shaking. Crucially, it does not have a refrigeration system, meaning it can only heat the chamber above the ambient (room) temperature. RS12R and RS12PLUS ORBITAL SHAKERS REMI This model is perfect for the vast majority of standard microbiological applications, such as growing bacteria (like E. coli at 37°C), yeast, and other cultures that thrive at elevated temperatures. It is a more cost-effective solution if cooling is not a requirement for your work. Key Specifications & Features: RS12R and RS12PLUS ORBITAL SHAKERS REMI- Primary Function: Shaking and Heating only.
- Temperature Range: Typically Ambient +5°C to 60°C.
- Platform: Universal platform with lotus-type clamps, identical in capacity and design to the RS-12R.
- Construction: Similar to the RS-12R, with a stainless steel inner chamber and an observation window.

Summary: Which One Should You Choose?
- Choose the REMI RS-12R if: Your research involves incubating samples at temperatures below the ambient room temperature. If you work with insect cells, marine samples, or need to perform cold-shock protein expression, the refrigeration capability is non-negotiable. RS12R and RS12PLUS ORBITAL SHAKERS REMI
- Choose the REMI RS-12 Plus if: Your work exclusively involves incubating samples at or above room temperature. For standard bacterial cultures (E. coli, B. subtilis), yeast cultures, and general molecular biology applications, this model provides all the necessary features at a more economical price point.
